Presented by world music pioneers Yehudi Menuhin and Ravi Shankar, From the Sitar to the Guitar tells a story which started nearly a thousand years ago in Rajasthan, India, and culminates in the Spanish flamenco.
During this historic event, produced by the International Yehudi Menuhin Foundation and presented at the Cirque Royal in Brussels on 24 and 25 November 1995, we follow the epic trail of the nomads, the gypsies, hunted down because of their differences. It is a story of resignation and ecstasy
The IYMF is proud to present this international production. The participating artists are coming from 6 MUS-E countries in Europe. Two more musicians were added to the group, creating thus the MUS-E Band. Together they created the music of the DVD “Menuhin’s Dream”, now available for the Network in its trailer version (15 minutes).
The MUS-E Band CD “WINGS” includes a repertoire of 13 musical pieces, while the recordings were made during 2 international artistic laboratories on Music Composition, organised by the IYMF and under the artistic direction of Thierry Van Roy.
The CD is available for sale. For more information and to order a copy, please send an email to the
