Opening concert of the Classissimo Festival by the International Yehudi Menuhin Foundation. With the Brussels Chamber Orchestra, orchestra in residence at the Foundation, and soloist Camille Thomas.
On Friday the 3rd of August 2018, the “International Yehudi Menuhin Foundation” presents the Opening Concert of the Classissimo Festival by welcoming the young Franco-Belgian cellist Camille Thomas to the stage of the Théâtre Royal du Parc, accompanied by the Brussels Chamber Orchestra, orchestra in residence with the Foundation. On the programme for this opening evening: Mozart, Elgar and Dvořák. A dazzling concert featuring an original adaptation of Dvořák’s cello concerto in B minor based on an arrangement by Mario Villuendas performed by Camille Thomas.
For this project, the Foundation is collaborating with the Citizen’s Platform for Refugee Support (Bxl Refugees Welcome), some of whose refugee members will participate in a moment of exchange with the musicians during the general rehearsal.
