On 28 May 2026, the Museum of National Resistance of Ilioupoli hosted a dissemination event celebrating European and innovative educational projects implemented by local primary schools. The initiative highlighted the strong commitment of Ilioupoli’s educational community to innovation, international cooperation, inclusion and sustainable development. 

The event was organised in collaboration with Education Consultant for Primary Education (PE70) Nikolaos Efstathiou, the 5th, 8th, 13th, 15th and 20th Primary Schools of Ilioupoli, and the Museum of Greek Children’s Art. Presentations were coordinated by educator Christianna Kakogiannou. The Municipality of Ilioupoli was represented by Eleftherios Kontis, Municipal Councillor responsible for recycling initiatives.

Participants showcased a diverse range of initiatives related to innovative teaching approaches promoting creativity, active citizenship, environmental awareness, and social inclusion, including Erasmus+, eTwinning, European School Radio projects, and MUS-E Arts in Education.

In particular, the event showcased several actions implemented through the MUS-E Arts in Education programme, represented in Greece by the Museum of Greek Children’s Art. At the 5th, 15th and 20th Primary Schools, the programme was successfully linked to the Skills Workshops curriculum, addressing themes such as the Sustainable Development Goals, environmental and cultural heritage protection, healthy lifestyles, children’s rights, responsible management of natural resources and the promotion of positive attitudes and wellbeing. Through artistic expression and participatory learning, students were encouraged to develop key competences and values essential for the 21st century.

A key theme of the event was the dissemination and sustainability of project outcomes. Speakers emphasised that sharing educational practices, methodologies and resources strengthens professional learning communities, supports educators’ continuous professional development and encourages the transfer of innovation across schools. 

The event concluded with a productive exchange of ideas, reaffirming the participating schools’ commitment to educational excellence, European cooperation and lifelong learning through strategic partnerships that foster a more inclusive, sustainable and interconnected European Education Area.
