INSIDE « Centre d’accueil »

The project offers short term or long-term workshops in Red Cross and Fedasil centres for refugees and newcomers in Belgium. These workshops mostly engage children in various artistic activities such as theatre, dance, graffiti, and film making helping them see themselves and others in a new light.

2023

16 three-day workshops were held at various Red Cross and Fedasil centers for refugees and new arrivals throughout Belgium, including Machelen, Overijse, Auderghem, Jambes, Nonceveux, and Yvoir. Participants, both adults and/or children, took part in various artistic workshops such as theater, dance, graffiti, singing, percussion, and poetry. Everyone had something to contribute, whether experienced, a beginner, or simply curious.
2024

Four workshops will be held at the Yvoir Red Cross Center, exclusively for children, during the school holidays, covering the following artistic practices: theater with actor François Pinte, dance with Mathilde Laroque, graffiti with Thyl Seeger, and digital audio storytelling with Miléna Boche
2025

IYMF launched “Le Cinéma des Rêves” in partnership with the Yvoir Cross Center. This project brings together ten asylum-seeking children (9–12 years) for weekly workshops until February 2026, guiding them from idea to short film. Through theatre, improvisation, and storytelling, participants explore their dreams and personal stories in a supportive environment.
2026

During the March school holiday, in collaboration with Loupiote asbl, the children discovered the work of professional actors by starring in their own short film, which was also written by them.
In June, the children proudly showed the short film on stage, as well as a making of reportage, at the Yvoir Red Cross Centre, in front of their friends and families as well as the local community.
