The Spanish Embassy to the Kingdom of Belgium, in the context of the “Mediodias de la Embajada” and in the presence of H.E. the Ambassador Beatriz Larrotcha, supported the International Yehudi Menuhin Foundation during a concert given by the Quartet of the Brussels Chamber Orchestra, the orchestra in residence at the Foundation, directed by Mario Villuendas. The concert took place at the Residence of the Spanish Embassy in Belgium on December 12.
This quartet, composed of Mario Villuendas (cello), Nana Kawamura (1st violin), David Wlodarczyk (2nd violin), and Clement Holvoet (alto), offered a 45-minute repertoire centred on Spanish and Italian composers. This concert also marks the closing event of two European projects funded by Erasmus+ and led by two members of the IYMF’s MUS-E network: the Fundación Yehudi Menuhin España (FYME), which manages the “Arte por la Convivencia” project, and MUS-E Roma, which manages the “We all count” project. These two Erasmus projects focus on the exchange of good artistic practices and the training of artists working in schools with the aim of encouraging the social inclusion of children from all cultures.
