An initiative of the International Yehudi Menuhin Foundation
Did you know that Romany a songs have a magical energy and are considered as jewels for the Romany culture?
While inspiring and releasing your creativity, Romany songs also give you a better understanding of Roma gypsies’ life, traditions, culture and feeling of belonging. Romany songs can teach us to free our voices, giving us the opportunity to explore an unknown culture while working on our own personal development.
Come and take part in a free your voice workshop to discover Roma culture. This workshop will be given by Ida Kelarova, a Czech singer known for her music and workshops, accompanied by Dužda Desiderius, guitarist, and Oto Bunda, musician and dancer. She will teach you to free your emotions and let yourself be carried away by them through the art of song.

Art4ROM is a project financed by the European Commission and initiated by the International Yehudi Menuhin Foundation promoting intercultural dialogue within Roma and non-Roma children through arts.
On 23 January, the partners of the project Art4Rom will meet in Brussels for three days.

A concert was organized by the CIMA Festival associated with the International Yehudi Menuhin Foundation. This event, called Concerti in Monte Argentario is an Italian international classical music festival which takes place annually in the Tuscan town of Monte Argentario. This year, the Portuguese operatic baritone Jorge Chaminé and the French pianist Marie-Françoise Bucquet assisted to the festival.

"From Segregation To Integration - The Role Of Culture In Roma Inclusion" - Brussels - 18 April 2012 |
|
On 18 April, the Commission will organise a conference discussing the
substansial role that arts and culture may play in Roma inclusion. In
fact, they may act as a bridge between Roma and the majority society,
challenging stereotypes and prejudice.
In the evening the Commission will offer a concert "Roma Voices for
Tomorrow" organised by the International Yehudi Menuhin Foundation as a
valorisation event of their project supported by the EU Culture
Programme. At the concert the Roma artist Ida Kelarova accompanied by
the children from Roma settlements will show how art is able to link
artistic excellence and social exclusion.

On Tuesday 22 November, the
P.IN.O.K.I.O. International Conference will take place in Brussels from 9.00 am to 2.00 pm
P.IN.O.K.I.O. (Pupils for INnOvation as a Key to Intercultural and
social inclusiOn) aims at promoting intercultural dialogue against
social exclusion, using fairy tale characters as a ‘way’ of
communication for pre-school and school children, migrant children and
their parents.
In this regard the project is focussed on the development of some of
the eight key-competences recommended by the EC as “those which all
individuals need for personal fulfilment and development, active
citizenship, social inclusion and employment”

ETP Slovensko will welcome the Artists-Ambassadors of the International Yehudi Menuhin Foundation at Kosice, Slovakia from 4 September till 9 September 2011.
Thanks to the support of Mrs. Slavka Macakova, Director of ETP Slovakia, the artists-ambassadors selected by the International Yehudi Menuhin Foundation for the European project "Voices for Tomorrow" will participate in the artistic workshops organized from 4-9 September 2011 in Kosice in Slovakia.
The programme « Voices for Tomorrow » is financed by the DGEAC under the line « Ambassadors of the Cultures of Europe » for the years 2011, 2012 and 2013. This is a structural funding which allows the International Yehudi Menuhin Foundation to consolidate its long-term projects and to deepen its fields of activities in the context of integration and creativity.
Overall objective: reinforcing and disseminating throughout Europe the mission of the Artists-Ambassadors for Cultures of Europe, spokespeople for the values of the International Yehudi Menuhin Foundation/IYMF (creativity, integration, sharing, respect for diversity, transmission) and their artistic methodology based on interdisciplinarity, improvisation and interculturality in order to give a VOICE to the cultures of Europe and foster the integration of vulnerable groups through the practice of art.

To celebrate the 100th anniversary, Assonime organises on 22 November 2010 the concert “100 minuti per 100 anni” (100 minutes for hundred years)
The concert will take place in the Sala Sinopoli of the Auditoriumin Parco della Musica in Rome. Nine musicians and dancers of the International Yehudi Menuhin Foundation and 12 musicians of the Orchestra di Piazza Vittorio will meet for one evening and become an enchanted orchestra that embodies the colours of the world and express the power of music to unite beyond any barrier.

Trio Loyko’s founder, Sergei Erdenko , is from a traditionally
musical, Russian gypsey family. He was taught music from the age of 5
by his great grandfather, who had passed diploma grades at the Moscow
Conservatory. The other 2 members of the trio, on violin and guitar,
also had a classical musical education. It is thanks to this wonderful
marriage between traditional gypsey and the classical that this trio
has become recognised as one of the finest gypsey bands on the circuit
. Loyko has played on some prestigious stages with big names in world
music such as Gidon Kremer, Yehudi Menuhin, Ravi Shankar and Mstislav
Rostropovitsj. True virtuosos for an electrifying concert.

Buran Oçal was born in the region situated in the north of Istanbul (at the crossroads between Bulgaria, Greece and the Black sea). He represents the musical link between these Balkan communities and rural Turkey and is a blend of pure virtuosity and humanity. He will be accompanied on stage by the Istanbul Oriental Ensemble consisting of 5 musicians.

The Artists-Ambassadors of the International Yehudi Menuhin Foundation will share their artistic practices with the Spanish artists, Madrid, Spain.

Europa Nova Foundation – Welcome the artists-ambassadors of the International Yehudi Menuhin Foundation.
Thanks to the support of Mrs. Robert Manchin, president of Gallup Europe and chairperson of the Europa Nova Foundation, the artists-ambassadors selected by the International Yehudi Menuhin Foundation for the European project "Islands Voices" will participate in the symposium organized from 24-28 August 2010 in Losinj island in Croatia.
The purpose of this session is to reflect on the islands as microcosm of the world in collaboration with some experts and intellectuals from different spheres of activities. The artists will bring their knowledge and skills that they will share with different audiences during participative workshops, so as to underline that each person is in a way an island to be discovered and to be linked together, as to build up an archipelago of competences and collaborations. They will end their stay with a public performance centered on music and dance.

Participation to the ltterary and artistic days organised by Kiran Vyas and Olivier Germain Thomas at Tapovan Centre.
A big succes for the creative piece presented by the artists-ambassadors participating in the project Sharing All voices initiated by the International Yehudi Menuhin Foundation and funded by the European Commission.
7 artists gathered and worked during 4 days in the Menuhin Hall of Tapovan Center.
On Saturday 10 July at 6.00 pm, they presented the results of their
artistic work to an audience of well-known writers and artists invited
by Kiran Vyas and Olivier Germain Thomas.
