Residential Artistic Seminar Sharing Voices Moving Voices 7-11 Septembre Scotland
|
« Moving Voices » is the voice of nomadic cultures which travel and fertilize our earth both with their joys and sufferings. It is the voice of itinerant artists, who set up camp for a while to share and explore common artistic languages. It is the voice of all those who travel, who keep moving, who go exploring, as did our Maestro Menuhin.
Organizer: IYMF; Field of activity: Art and Intercultural Dialogue; Programme: Assembly of Cultures of Europe (ACE); Project: SHARING VOICES, a new three-year programme (Moving Voices focused on nomadic cultures / Green Voices focused on cultures and the environment / Voices from Islands focused on urban and island cultures).
Objective: Artists from various cultures and disciplines will meet at the Tapovan Centre to explore together from a creative angle how artists can be the ambassadors of the nomadic spirit and how they can express the richness of nomadism in the artistic field. Tapovan is a unique regenerative place where the precepts taught by the father of Kiran Vyas are cultivated: nonviolence and truth. It is also an inspiring place for artists, fostering their creativeness. At the end of the project, we hope to produce an intercultural music repertoire using a rhythmic pattern, a melody or sounds from the European heritage as a starting point, with simultaneous work in the field of visual and plastic arts. Video and choreographic work based on the music created will be used for preparing images which will then be projected onto a screen during our multicultural concert tour scheduled to take place in November in Central Europe, where we shall go and meet nomadic musicians.
Participants: Thierry Van Roy (Artistic director and music producer);
Alan Bern (Musician - accordion); Osvaldo Hernandez (Musician – Percussions);
Isabelle Marx (Voice – singer-actress); Milton Paulo (Dancer);
Patries Wichers (Visual arts); Shanglie Zhou (Videomaker)
