Inside création “Pièces montées” on stage

The  Inside création “Pièces montées” project, co-coordinated with the Théâtre National Wallonie-Bruxelles (TNWB) was presented on stage in the framework of the TNWB Festival “A la scène comme à la ville”, which took place on April 25th. This presentation on stage was the pinnacle of months of workshops mixing signed singing, baking, dancing, recording interviews…

On stage, almost a hundred people told the story of the TNWB from its beginnings to today, with testimonies, singing, acting, dancing, mixing spoken word and sign language, translated in real time by an interpreter. The audience gave a standing ovation and was very moved by the piece. All then gathered in the foyer of the theatre where students from the play distributed some birthday cake made by one of the residents of Maison Gertrude care home, while many joined the dance floor to continue the celebration until late in the night!

Lead by TNWB project coordinator Valerie Bertollo and co produced by the TNWB and IYMF, this project was carried by Writer Laurence Vielle, sound creator Zoé Suliko, musician Vincent Grange, choreographer Milton Paulo, Theatre company “Sur le bout des doigts” (specialised in theatre for hearing impaired audiences), scenographer Noémie Warrion.

Participants: The MYP5 class of the International Montessori school, 1st and 2nd year students from “L’école intégrée”, students from Alexandre Herlin institute, residents from “Maison Gertrude” care home, and the youth choir of “La monnaie” opera.
