In addition the IYMF has also been setting up and organising concerts
and events, such as From the Sitar to the Guitar, All the World’s
Violins, Voices for Peace, and Menuhin’s Dreams. The aim has been to
provide platforms for artists of different disciplines and
nationalities to work together, before international audiences, and to
raise funds for projects and fellowships.
Since 1992 the IYMF has organised more than 10 concerts featuring both
internationally known artists and newcomers. Before his death in 1999
Yehudi Menuhin himself presented Stéphane Grappelli, Ravi Shankar,
Marcel Marceau, Myriam Makeba, and many others on stage, bringing
together different cultural identities with his own particular magic.
