The origins
Homelands, Places of Belonging
In 2018, the International Yehudi Menuhin Foundation and several cultural partners launched the project “Homelands, Places of Belonging,” an artistic exploration in pairs focused on belonging to a place and the feeling of being at home. This project paired newcomer artists with members of local cultural institutions. Together, they embarked on a creative and artistic process with local community groups around the concept of “belonging,” helping to strengthen self-confidence.
Following the success of “Homelands” and the artistic work on belonging and self-confidence, the IYMF aimed to expand these artistic pairings into new forms, reaching a broader audience and addressing new beneficiaries.

Art as a tool for self-confidence
Inside « IPPJ »
This project offers creative workshops for at-risk youth. Participants have the opportunity to explore artistic practices such as podcasting, music production, dance, and video creation. The initiative aims to enhance self-confidence and trust, spark an interest in the arts, and produce high-quality artistic content.
Inside « Création »
Inside Creation is a collaborative artistic project developed by the International Yehudi Menuhin Foundation in partnership with the Théâtre National Wallonie-Bruxelles (TNWB) and schools to foster creativity, social inclusion, and youth expression. It brings together professional artists and secondary school students in a collective creative process that encourages them to explore themes related to their identities, communities, and social realities.
Inside « Centre d'accueil »
The project offers three-day workshops in Red Cross and Fedasil centers for refugees and newcomers in Belgium. These workshops engage both adults and children in various artistic activities like theater, dance, graffiti, helping them see themselves and others in a new light.
Inside « Maison de repos »
The project hosts concerts in nursing homes for residents and their families. Featured artists include Michel Desaubies, Marlène Dorcena, Opera Singer Catherine Maufroy, and the Brussels Chamber Orchestra quartet. The concerts create a festive atmosphere, bringing residents and their loved ones together. This initiative enhances the sense of social inclusion among attendees.
